Router evidence

Will eero work with my ISP?

For supported modern eero models, PPPoE and uplink VLAN are documented features. eero remains an Ethernet router rather than a VDSL modem, and provider-specific authentication can still block direct replacement.

Where eero is a natural fit

Ethernet-handoff services such as GFiber, many FTTP services and nbn connection-box profiles are the simplest cases, provided the ISP does not require an unsupported authentication method.

Where the provider box stays

AT&T Fiber uses its gateway with IP Passthrough; Xfinity and Rogers can use bridge mode; Spectrum keeps a cable modem. In those cases eero can still be the home router without replacing the provider access device.

Where eero is not the modem

UK FTTC and Australian FTTN/FTTB profiles can require VDSL termination. A normal eero cannot plug directly into the DSL line.
