HHLONIX

Router evidence

Can a TP-Link Archer BE550 replace my ISP router?

The Archer BE550 is a Wi-Fi 7 Ethernet router. Its current user guide documents PPPoE Internet setup, IPTV/VLAN controls and Access Point mode. It does not contain a VDSL modem, and Hlonix does not assume DHCP Option 61 support because the cited manual does not document it.

Where the BE550 is a strong fit

DHCP/IPoE or PPPoE services that already hand Ethernet to the router are the natural cases. That includes fiber ONTs/NTDs and cable-modem topologies across several supported countries.

Where VLAN support helps

The BE550 user guide exposes IPTV/VLAN configuration, so provider profiles that need configurable VLAN tagging are materially different from routers that need an extra managed switch.

Where it cannot replace everything

UK FTTC, Australian FTTN/FTTB and other VDSL-last-mile profiles still need a VDSL modem or modem-router in front of the BE550.

Sky remains verification-required

Hlonix does not have model-specific Option 61 evidence for the BE550, so it does not promote the router to a confident direct Sky replacement.
