Can I use my own router with KPN Fibre?

Yes. KPN explicitly supports own equipment. For internet, KPN-hosted technical guidance documents PPPoE over VLAN 6. TV and fixed voice use additional service requirements, so the internet-only result should not be treated as a complete triple-play configuration.

The ONT can stay while the router changes

For a standard Ethernet handoff from the KPN ONT, your own router handles the internet PPPoE session over VLAN 6.

TV is not just 'internet over the same VLAN'

KPN's service stack separates internet, TV and fixed voice. A router suitable for internet may still need specific IPTV/IGMP and VLAN capabilities.

Why confidence is medium

KPN's own-equipment policy is first-party; the concise PPPoE/VLAN 6 statement used here is from KPN-hosted community material that points back to KPN's technical own-equipment documentation.
