Can I use my own router with Deutsche Telekom FTTH?

Yes with suitable hardware. Telekom supports compatible routers using an integrated fibre modem, SFP module or external fibre modem. For an external fibre modem/ONT plus Ethernet router, Telekom-hosted support guidance confirms PPPoE over VLAN 7.

The optical modem and router are separate decisions

Telekom's official compatibility page supports several models: integrated optical router, SFP-based router or a separate fibre modem in front of an Ethernet router.

Why VLAN 7 is marked medium-confidence evidence

The explicit PPPoE/VLAN 7 statement comes from Telekom-hosted community support, where a Telekom team member confirms the setting. Hlonix therefore uses it but labels the profile medium rather than high confidence.

FTTB is not this profile

Telekom's current documentation says FTTB can require G.fast-capable hardware. Do not use this FTTH Ethernet-router verdict for an FTTB/G.fast line.
