Can I use my own router with Spark Fibre?
Yes. Spark publishes detailed third-party Fibre settings: PPPoE, 802.1Q VLAN 10, PCP 0 and a non-empty PPP username/password. The router connects by Ethernet to the Fibre ONT.

The ONT stays
The Spark Fibre box/ONT handles the optical side. Your router connects to the active ONT Ethernet port and establishes the WAN session.
Credentials are generic, but not blank
Spark says a specific username/password is not required, but both fields must be non-empty. Its example values are user@spark.co.nz and password.
VLAN is mandatory in the cited profile
Unlike Skinny Fibre, Spark's current BYO Fibre instructions require 802.1Q VLAN ID 10.
